Producing kojic acid involves inoculating definite amount of fungal spores inoculum to fermentation culture medium, and then analyzing oncentration of glycerol and biomass in obtained crude fungal culture, after fermentation
NOVELTY – Producing kojic acid involves inoculating definite amount of fungal spores inoculum to the fermentation culture medium. The obtained crude fungal culture, after fermentation, is then tested to find out concentration of glycerol and biomass in it, along with the determination of pH. The obtained crude fungal culture is then centrifuged for fungal cell separation, where the leftover residue after centrifugation, is passed over affinity chromatography to obtain crude eluate. USE – Method for producing kojic acid (claimed). ADVANTAGE – The produced kojic acid is 99% pure. DETAILED DESCRIPTION – Producing kojic acid involves inoculating definite amount of fungal spores inoculum to the fermentation culture medium. The obtained crude eluate is then treated with solvent for the extraction of kojic acid molecules, and then subjected to crystallization to obtain the finished product.
