Electrochemical reactor for liquid effluent containing cyanides consists of a metal oxide coated titanium anode and metal sponge cathode based system
NOVELTY – The electrochemical reactor for liquid effluent containing cyanide comprises a system with anodes of titanium coated with metal oxides and e.g. metal sponge cathodes. It is also effective in the treatment of effluent containing cyanides complexed with heavy metals e.g. in the fertilizer industry. The free cyanide total cyanide and e.g. total copper concentrations of the effluent are lowered to under 0.1 mg.litre-1, i.e. by 99.9 per cent. USE – In applied chemistry.
Main Application Field
D15 (Chemical or biological treatment of water, industrial waste and sewage – including purification, sterilising or testing water, scale prevention, treatment of sewage sludge, regeneration of active carbon which has been used for water treatment and impregnating water with gas e.g. CO2, but excluding plant and anti-pollution devices (C02).)
