PROCESS OF PROTEIN EXTRACTION OF ENDOSPERMA OF SEEDS
NOVELTY – The extraction of protein from e.g. transgenic maize seeds endosperm has production of e.g. human and animal recombinant pro-insulin as a precursor of insulin for diabetes treatment. Alkaline solvent and reducing agent treatment of the maize and flour is supplemented by centrifugation to remove the suspended solids from the solution, reducing costs compared with conventional fermentation processes. USE – In physical chemistry.
Main Application Field
B04 (Natural products and polymers. Including testing of body fluids (other than blood typing or cell counting), pharmaceuticals or veterinary compounds of unknown structure, testing of microorganisms for pathogenicity, testing of chemicals for mutagenicity or human toxicity and fermentative production of DNA or RNA. General compositions.); C06 (Biotechnology – including plant genetics and veterinary vaccines.); D16 (Fermentation industry – including fermentation equipment, brewing, yeast production, production of pharmaceuticals and other chemicals by fermentation, microbiology, production of vaccines and antibodies, cell and tissue culture and genetic engineering.)
