Biodiesel production via solid phosphorus and trivalent metals based catalysts comprises controlled transesterification of animal and vegetable oils and fats
NOVELTY – The biodiesel production via solid phosphorus and trivalent metals based catalysts has transesterification of animal and vegetable oils and fats. The reagents are e.g. CH2-(CH2)n-OH short-chain alcohols where n = 0 to 4, with solid acid heterogeneous catalysts (acid diphosphates of e.g. lanthanides) which can be recycled. EMBODIMENT – The process gives simultaneous glycerides transesterification and free fatty acids esterification on the basis of a wide variety of oils and fats. USE – In applied chemistry.
Main Application Field
D23 (Oils, fats and waxes – including fatty acids, essential oils, but excluding butter (substitutes) and montan wax (C11B, C).); H06 (Gaseous and liquid fuels – including pollution control. Chemical aspects of catalytic exhaust systems for cars are included as well as liquid or gaseous fuels of non-petroleum origin e.g. methanol or ethanol-based fuels. Combustion improvement additives for liquid fuels are included (C10L).)
