NOVELTY – Bio-kerosene fuel production involves preparing feedstock containing material rich in glycerides, lower alcohol, and a homogeneous or heterogeneous catalyst at atmospheric pressure. The resulting material is heated at 50 degrees C to promote transesterification reaction at atmospheric pressure. The obtained product is purified in high vacuum to get bio-kerosene, where the residue includes heavy ester containing more than 16 carbon atoms. USE – Method for producing bio-kerosene fuel from renewable origin. ADVANTAGE – The method produces bio-kerosene fuel with a high degree of purity and characteristics similar to fossil fuel. The obtained fuel is an alternative to jet fuel that reduces emissions of pollutants with low toxicity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION – Bio-kerosene fuel production involves preparing feedstock containing material rich in glycerides, lower alcohol, and a homogeneous or heterogeneous catalyst at atmospheric pressure. The resulting material is heated at 50 degrees C to promote transesterification reaction at atmospheric pressure. The obtained product is purified in high vacuum to get bio-kerosene, where the residue includes heavy ester containing more than 16 carbon atoms. The residue undergoes decarbonylation in fixed-bed or fluidized reactor in presence of zeolites as catalyst at 150-600 degrees C to obtain a mixture of hydrocarbons and oxygenates. The obtained mixture is separated, where the obtained hydrocarbons fraction is compatible with fossil kerosene composition. The oxygenates fraction is subjected to hydrogenation reaction, where the resulting product is purified by distillation at atmospheric pressure to give hydrocarbons called bio-kerosene and lower hydrocarbons.
