Method for synthesis of hydrogen peroxide in medium with different values of pH, involves passing electric current or electric potential in aqueous electrolyte between cathode and anode
NOVELTY – The hydrogen peroxide synthesis method involves passing electric current or electric potential in an aqueous electrolyte, between cathode and anode, to promote the reduction reaction of gaseous molecules of oxygen to hydrogen peroxide. Gaseous diffusion electrodes modified with organic redox catalysts are used as cathode, regardless of the material used as anode. The modified gaseous diffusion electrodes are also used in the oxidation reaction of water in the anode. USE – Method for synthesis of hydrogen peroxide in medium with different values of pH. DETAILED DESCRIPTION – INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for the following: (1) gaseous diffusion electrodes modified with organic redox catalysts (2) an electrochemical or electrolytic reactor for synthesis of hydrogen peroxide, comprising the gaseous diffusion electrodes modified with organic redox catalysts.
Main Application Field
E36 (Non-metallic elements, semi-metals (Se, Te, B, Si) and their compounds (except for E35).); J03 (Electrochemical processes and electrophoresis – including ozone production, brine electrolysis, water electrolysis, production of chemical compounds and non-metallic elements, but excluding batteries or other means of producing power and the treatment of metals (C25B).); X25 (Industrial Electric Equipment)
