Producing silica-based nanoproducts, preferably silica nanoparticle hydrogel and silica nanoparticles used as support for catalysts, involves preparing silicate solution and weak organic acid solution
NOVELTY – Silica-based nanoproducts production involves preparing silicate solution and weak organic acid solution, where the prepared weak organic acid solution is added in the silicate solution. The obtained mixture is refluxed, filtered, concentrated and dried. The dried mixture is adsorbed and then dried. The silicate solution is prepared by dissolving 0.1-10%, preferably 1% of sodium alkaline silicate in distilled water. USE – Method for producing silica-based nanoproducts, preferably silica nanoparticle hydrogel and silica nanoparticles used as a support for catalysts, materials adsorbing stationary phase for gas chromatography and liquid phase, reinforcing agent in rubber, elastomer, texturizing agent, material filling, abrasives, polishing material, carrier systems and additives for agricultural sectors, home and personal care, ceramics, polymers, and paints (all claimed). ADVANTAGE – The method efficiently produces silica-based nanoproducts having improved fungicidal and bactericidal properties by adsorption of specific metal ions to the silica nanoparticles. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) – The drawing shows a graphical representation depicting size distribution of the silica nanoparticles.
